Show Notes

Marisi López is from Corrientes in the north of Argentina.  In 2005, she joined the Tompkins Conservation team in their work on the stunningly beautiful Iberá Park. The Tompkins started buying up land several decades ago, much to the dismay of the local people. However, when they realised that the park was bringing them jobs and saw the land regenerating, they became huge supporters.  Current projects within the park include reintroducing species such as the jaguar and the giant otter.  Marisi herself is working on opening up “Tourist Gateways” in order to provide more points of access for tourists and the local people.
