Mentoring and finding your joy with Pamela Johnson

Show Notes

Pamela was the director of learning and development at Freddie Mac and a mentor for many. She is now an instructional designer and continues to act as a mentor.

Helping and advising people brings a lot of joy to Pamela, so it’s no surprise that she found herself mentoring people quite organically.

In the corporate world, people tend to use mentoring as a tool to jump to the next level. For Pamela, advancement comes naturally when you find your joy and your niche at work.

As she puts it: ‘It would be really nice if for young people, we could change that paradigm, to think what's going to bring you true pleasure and satisfaction. And pursue that and not worry so much about whether or not it's going to bring you material things or prestige’.

She would love to see women advocating for themselves, taking leaps of faith and being braver. She is living her talk and recently left her position at Freddie Mac. Guess what? Her new opportunity as an instructional designer kind of fell into her lap!
