Upgrade your business and your life with Shilpa Panchmatia

Show Notes

Shilpa Panchmatia grew up as an Indian girl in London. She is an extremely successful business woman and is currently running a business as a Business Growth Coach called Shilpa P.

This interview covers a lot of ground. We talk about how Shilpa’s ancestors came to be living in East Africa and why they had to leave. We talk about the influence of the Hindu culture and her caste on her life and her career. We talk about the subtle but very real discrimination she suffered as a woman and an Asian in the corporate world.

Shilpa teaches a song to the little girl next door: “I’m smart, I’m intelligent and I can do anything I want”. Shilpa’s mother taught this to her and this has been a guiding principle in her life. For example, she started a very successful business with nothing more than an office, a pen, a pot plant and a few vague ideas.

Shilpa talks about her burnout three years ago and how it led her to find joy, happiness and Ikigaï. She talks about how she integrates this understanding in her work with clients.

Shilpa shares the three top things she teaches her clients as a Business Growth Coach: being clear on who you are as a leader, visionary and entrepreneur; transforming the entrepreneur’s vision into reality; and thinking about scaling and having an exit strategy from the beginning.

Shilpa is an active supporter of the project Life and talks about the foundation’s work with women in India who have been thrown out of the family with their children and are hanging around the streets.
